This model has a 24 pin main power connector over the previous 20 pin connector and it also does not require a 6 pin AUX power connector. Serial ATA power connectors are a must in this version, and it also shows minimum power wastage in conversion, and thus, higher efficiency.
The most notable change in the modern version of ATX is an addition of 4 pins which ensure additional power can be transferred through the rails.
One of the major advantages of this version is a decrease in wastage of power. When current is pulled from the wall outlet there is the conversion of power from high to low, on the level at which the PC requires it. But even though less power is used, there is extreme wastage in the transfer in the form of heat.
