Changes to Thumbnail Displays/Cropping for Projects

I'm really enjoying all the features of this site so far, but one thing that has bothered me a bit from the get go is that with any submission I make, the thumbnail view for the example art tends to crop in a way that doesn't show what I'd like it to.

I realize that maybe this could be fixed if I upload a specific thumbnail view as the preview image and the examples after it, but this could also be fixed with being able to crop the thumbnail manually when I select it.

To be clear, what I mean is, when I upload a full body piece of a character as an example, the thumbnail typically cuts out the character's head and kinda focuses on their torso, which doesn't really make for a good example if anyone were to find it onsite or be browsing my listings.

I also feel that the previews and thumbnails might look better across the site if they were square or closer to being square as opposed to wide rectangles, but I don't know how others feel about it. It would certainly be less of an issue with manual cropping, but I do like how square posts look. I want to see as much of the piece as I can in the thumbnail, basically.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to using commissio more!

I definitely prefer square thumbnails.  It makes it a lot easier to know what size to make your own thumbnails if you want to have a specific listing cover.  What I wound up having to do to get an exact template for listings that need specific cropping was screen cap a page, crop it down to the pixel, and then enlarge the crop.  A lot of work when I could have just created something that was 500sq.

I agree with Milesy! The way I have to crop my listings to look somewhat nice doesn't really do them justice as well, I feel, such as for full-body pieces and icons. I think it'd look much nicer for showing off what you're selling to clients.
