These hairstyle brushes include puffy locs, regular locs, a thicc braid, and twists. I created these brushes out of a desire to use them in my own art, and because it was a study of the many different styles we can utilize in order to protect our hair and wear it with pride.

Taylor Jackson (they/them) is a queer nonbinary artist based in Houston, Texas who loves communicating through personal illustrated portraits, 2D Animation, and Graphic Design. The mediums they choose to work with are; digital and traditional (pastel, pencil, colored pencil, and acrylic paint). Taylor has been a digital artist for over 5 years and a traditional artist for their entire life.

The self-taught artist did not attend art classes until college age and learned mostly everything online through websites like drawsketch.about.com (now liveabout.com) and YouTube. Up until pursuing digital art, Taylor had been doing traditional work. They attended Sam Houston State University and Houston Community College with an initial focus on criminology and studio art/graphic design. Now, Taylor’s focus has come full circle on finding different ways to educate themself. Taylor has since then done work for organizations such as Houston Community College and Out of the Margins.

WHAT I’M ABOUT

My work focuses on gender identity and racial representation through fan art and original work. I strive to use art as a therapeutic way to process my emotions and understand the world around me. I am gender-queer and underrepresented as a Black genderqueer person and artist. It is important to have diverse voices challenging the “status quo”. I am mostly self-taught. I did not attend art classes until college age and learned mostly everything online through websites like drawsketch.about.com (now liveabout.com) and YouTube. I became aware of digital art in high school when a friend showed me her digital work on DeviantArt. Up until that point, I had been doing traditional work. That is when I was introduced to GIMP and Sketchbook Pro. I didn’t use GIMP as much but immediately fell in love with Sketchbook Pro. I attended Sam Houston State University and Houston Community College with an initial focus on criminology and studio art/graphic design. Now, my focus has come full circle on finding different ways to educate myself. There are a ton more resources online now than there were in the mid-2000s, and often they are more cost-friendly than college. My background which started with limited resources inspired me to create work centered around mental health and accessibility; My goal is to provide low-cost or free resources to artists who are just trying to learn like me.

1. This Agreement

This agreement is between the artist and client. Commiss.io is a neutral third party providing hosting, technology, and dispute resolution services.

This license and agreement is entered into between the artist and the client (the “parties”). The parties are members of Commiss.io and have agreed to the Terms of Service as part of their membership. This agreement applies to the digital download associated with this license. The Terms of Service applies to all services of Commiss.io.

This agreement is only between the parties. Commiss.io is the provider of technology and management of the platform and is not a party to this agreement.

This agreement takes effect when the client purchases a digital download product on Commiss.io.

This agreement constitutes a legal contract. The client has purchased a . There is no employment relationship established by this agreement.

3. Payment

Payment is handled as outlined in the Terms of Service. The client is immediately charged for any downloaded content.

Payment is handled as outlined in the Commiss.io Terms of Service. The client will be charged immediately upon purchase. Commiss.io and its payment partners will deliver funds to the artist according to the terms outlined in the Terms.

There are currently no fees for purchasing downloadable content. Artists are currently not assessed a fee for selling downloadable content during the alpha period.

4. License of Downloadable Content

The client receives an non-exclusive, royalty free license for non-commercial use of any downloadable content made available with the listing.

Upon purchase, artist grants the client rights in the downloadable content as outlined below. In the event of a refund, client will retain no rights to retain or use the downloadable content.

For any downloadable content created by the artist, the client is granted a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license for all non-commercial use of the relevant downloadable content. Artist affirms they have the right to sub-license any content not wholly owned by them that is part of the downloadable content.

If a signature or other identifying mark is present, client may not remove it without prior approval from the artist.

Clients usage of all materials is limited to non-commercial purposes. Commercial use is permitted only by written agreement between artist and client.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

Refunds are subject to the standard Commiss.io Digital Download Refund policies.

Clients can request refunds within 5 days of purchase by emailing [email protected] or using the Support tab on every page. Refund requests are subject to review by Commiss.io staff and subject to the Refund Policy for Downloadable Content.

Refunds after the 5 day window may be approved or rejected at the sole discretion of Commiss.io in consultation with the original artist.

When a client has been issued a refund, they no longer have any license or right to use any Downloadable Content and must delete any copies from their computers and/or destroy any physical copies available.

7. Miscellaneous

This agreement is bound to the Commiss.io Terms of Service and those terms are incorporated to the greatest extent permissible by law, into this agreement. In the case this agreement is inconsistent with the Commiss.io Terms of Service, those terms take precedence over anything within this agreement.

T-shirt or logo designs do not qualify as illustration commissions. Adult-themed submissions are accepted but will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. There is a strict policy on paying the full price of an art piece before I begin working on it. No exceptions will be made and I do apologize, but this is just to make sure people are serious about commissioning me. I'm currently looking for work, so I just want to make sure the time I'm spending on art requests is well spent!

Please be as detailed as possible when submitting concepts for how you'd like your illustration to look! Don’t hesitate to send reference photos! Also, please be considerate of my time! I will complete your commission as fast as humanly possible. Emphasis on human lol.

STANDARD TERMS

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE YOU TO COMPLETE MY COMMISSION?

It depends on my workload. I will be updating you on the progress with watermarked progress pictures bi-weekly, should the time allotted for the project exceed 2 weeks to a month.

REFUNDS, CORRECTIONS, AND ADDITIONS

Corrections are free. However, if you would like to make an addition, there will be a $10 fee for every addition )in regards to illustration commissions). An addition constitutes an additional person, object, or element being added to the artwork. A correction is a result of you (the customer) being unsatisfied with a certain element of the artwork (coloring, proportions, etc). If in the event that you (the customer) are completely unsatisfied with the artwork, a 50 percent refund will be given depending on each individual circumstance. If in the event that I am unable to work on a commission and have not started on it at all (family emergencies, sickness, life-changing events), a 100 percent refund will be given.

Upon payment, you agree that the rights to this artwork remain solely with the Artist (Taylor Jackson). Illustration and all other commissions may be used for non-commercial and nonprofit purposes unless given explicit written permission from the Artist (Taylor Jackson). All payments will be processed through an invoice from Stripe or PayPal. I will start on your commission as soon as payment is received. I do not use cryptocurrencies and will not allow any of my creations to be used for such, regardless of if the work is completed and submitted to you (the customer) or not.
